1852 Father Francis Hurley purchased land from Fletcher Blaisdell for a church in Coeymans.
1855 Congregation of 75 communicants as a mission church of Saint Mary’s Church Coxsackie.
1855-1890 Pastors include: Father Hurley, Father William Howard, Father Henry B, Finnegan, Father Morris Roche, Father William
Carrol,
Father Martin Stanton and Father Thomas P. Walsh.
1878 Father Martin Stanton refurbishes the church.
1890 The Church of Saint Patrick is established as an independent parish, Father J. P. Harrigan first local pastor.
1893 Father Thomas Walsh named pastor, during his pastorate the East Durham mission established.
1896-1917 Father Walsh administers a small congregation in Windham, Greene County.
1905 Father Walsh constructs first rectory.
1916 Father Francis A. Roche appointed pastor.
1917 October 28 cornerstone laid for the present church, built for $15,000.00.
1918 Spring first mass in new church.
1918 September 9 first wedding in new church.
1921 Father Christopher J. King appointed pastor.
1921-1922 Construction of Parochial School.
1923 September Saint Patrick School opens with initial registration of 265 students.
1923 Original rectory converted into convent for the Sisters of Mercy.
1923 Construction of current rectory.
1924 June first graduation exercise, six students receive Regent’s Preliminary Certificates.
1935 January 19 Father George M. Murray named new pastor.
1935 $15,000.00 renovation of church, north end opened to form current sanctuary and sacristy.
Circa 1935 Father Murray began religious education for parish elementary and high school student enrolled in public schools.
1953 Father Murray starts an $80,000.00 fund drive for new school building.
1955 New school opens.
1955 Convent renovated.
1955 Father Murray elevated to Right Reverend Monsignor.
1955 July 3 Father Joseph A. Koonz named Pastor.
1956 June 25 Father Ralph Marini assigned assistant pastor.
1957 April 23 Father Francis S. Hicks named pastor.
1957 Saint Patrick School enrollment 420 with additional 270 students from area public schools and East Durham receiving religious educations.
1959 Parish purchase of house on corner of Harris and Main Street.
1960 House demolished to create parking lot for church. |

1961 February Father John F. Taffe assigned pastor.
1961 Father Taffe killed in car accident. Father Walter T. Burns named pastor in April.
1961-1963 Assistant priests Father Urban, Father Lockwood, and Father
Milillo.
1 Father Burns elevated to Right Reverend Monsignor.
1968 Monsignor Burns dies.
1968 Father Harold T. Colburn assigned pastor.
1974 Final class graduated from Saint Patrick School.
1974 Convent purchased by Hillside House Inc.
1975 Father Titta revived Assunta Festival.
1979 Father Colburn retired, remaining assistants reassigned.
1979 Father Joseph Girzone assigned pastor.
Circa 1980 Seniors Project started in “Old School”.
1981 Father Girzone retires.
1981 Father Paul Tartaglia assigned as parish administrator until appointment of new pastor.
1981 October Father Francis DuBois assigned new pastor.
1981 Father Bernard (Bernie) Turner assigned associate pastor.
1986 Father Ronald Menty named pastor.
1990 Parish elected to maintain the existing structures.
1991 May 8 Vigil of the Ascension of the Lord, Father Vincent J. Ciotoli installed as pastor on his 15th anniversary of ordination to the priesthood.
1994 Interior of church refurbished, handicapped access installed, redesigned church exterior.
2000 Parish celebrates the Jubilee Year with the entire Church a millennium of Christianity begins.
2005 March Interior of church is paint to reflect historic colors.
2005 April 2 Pope John Paul II dies after 26 years, 5 months, 17 days as Pope. The second longest Papal reign in history. The longest being Pius IX (1846-1878): 31 years and 7 months.
2005 April 19 Pope Benedict XVI elected new Pontiff.
2005 April 24 Pope Benedict XVI installed.
2005 September 09 Father Vincent reassigned to St. Teresa of Avila Church Albany NY.
2005 October 15 Father Stuart Gullan-Steel assigned.
2005 Currently there are 955 registered families with 2,865 registered individuals in Saint Patrick Parish.
